The Sailor Scout Showdown

Lisa slammed her fist into her small Japanese-style bedroom table. "Ledite’s gonna know how it feels to lose for once, just like his monster creations!"

Christina smirked. "Yeah, we’ll kick his butt tonight! Just one hour!"

Jessica looked still unsure, and remained silent. If she chose to fight now, she would have to remain that way…always. She only had an hour left to decide.

The girls had been conversing in Lisa’s bedroom, her father occasionally yelling at her to quiet down, Mika was doing her homework.

Christina raised a brow at the man’s voice. "Mika?"

"Yeah, that’s my sister. She was with me at the park that day…" Lisa smiled, remembering their conversation. "I’m older than her by two years but she’s in the 7th grade. Feh. At least she doesn’t have to worry about how she did on high school exams."

"Oh, right! I’m trying to get into Tokugawa High. I wonder how I scored…"

"Tokugawa?! Are you kidding! First of all, that’s a private school, so it’s really really hard to get into. Secondly, only top students get in!"

"I tested for it too," the first few words out of Jessica’s mouth all evening.

"You’re both mad!" Lisa fell back onto the floor. "I wish I could go to a school like that…if I had the grades…"

"Oh, Lisa, its no big deal-"

"…But my parents want me at public school. They said its better for me and that I would meet more people. Sure did. I wish they were like normal parents and cared about my grades more than my social status." She sighed.

Christina turned to Jessica. "You know, we don’t have long now. We’ll leave shortly. Is your mind made up?"

Lisa stood and loomed over Jessica with Christina at her side. "Well…I-I…don’t want to disappoint you…"

Lisa smiled warmly. "That’s ok. If you don’t want to…That’s your choice, your life. You can hang here while we’re gone. Wish us luck!"

Jessica nodded.

"Unity Karma Power!"

"Galaxy Karma Power!"

A bright purple collar flapped out from a white sailor suit. A matching skirt and choker formed, and a cerulean bow with high heels of the same shade sparkled as they formed on her. She was once again Sailor Unity.

Sailor Galaxy carefully slid open the paper window of her first-story room. It would be easier to leave that way. The sailors jumped out and raced down the street with Tiki at their heels. When they reached the Sakura Springs Resort parking lot they stopped and caught their breath. Out of nowhere Unity began feeling her intuition throbbing inside. Something told her…

"He’s here," Sailor Galaxy said in a cold yet placid tone.

They peered inside the hotel. No one at all was there! No bellboy, guests, or assistant at the desk. Completely empty. Unity guessed that it was Ledite’s doing. She hadn’t been a scout long enough to know what about him Galaxy hated, but she knew he was no good guy.

Tiki’s little feet padded across the large marble lobby. He stopped dead in the center.

"What is it, Teek?" Galaxy looked around.

"Up."

The two scouts stepped slowly out to the cat. They looked up. Above them a huge glass sphere dome hung. There was a shadow right in the center.

Sailor Unity was tearing down the hall, her sense of energy pulling her ever harder. Galaxy followed, surprised she had taken off so quickly. Tiki stayed behind to lead other scouts incase they showed up.

After about twelve sets of stairs, they reached a large steel door. Unity put a hand on the rectangular knob.

"Sailor Unity."

"…hm?"

"He’s powerful. I want to warn you now. I’ve just found you…we can’t lose this early into the game."

"Right." The handle turned silently and the girls found themselves looking at Ledite’s back. They stepped onto the roof.

"So, you’re on time." He phased...now he was a bit closer and facing them. "But where is your third companion, Galaxy?"

"She’s not here. We alone can beat you."

"Oh really?"

They stood back to back. "I am the scout who rids the Universe of ultimate evil! My goal- to unify all planets and peoples! Sailor Unity!"

"I am the scout filled with love, who dreams and possesses unique talents. My goal- to defend my home and rule the Earth with love and peace! Sailor Galaxy!"

Ledite laughed evilly. "I suppose it’s only fair to give you one last motto, scouts. Now…under Queen Malicha, I will rid of you! Dark Lightning!"

A black flash pounded the ground by Unity. She saw Galaxy get hit and thrown backwards. ‘That had to hurt.’ Adrenaline mixed with the cry of the oceans as Sailor Unity fumed. Her veins were hot with power. "Unity Water Wrap!!" This time, something was different about her power. Her anger, the wails of the oceans, charged the blast. Ledite was snatched up by the great wave and squeezed powerfully. He again broke free, and didn’t appear to be hurt.

"Dark Thunder!" Unity braced for the attack; ready no matter what side it hit her from. There was an enormous ‘BOOM!’ from overhead, and she looked up…nothing was there. As if gravity had multiplied, or rather, as if something huge had fallen from the sky, Unity’s knees buckled and gave way. She was hammered into the roof, which began peeling back around her. The force didn’t let up until- Ledite cursed.

"Dammit!" He looked behind him. There…on top of the roof shack, was the White Knight.

His pearly luminous cloaks glittered. Unity wondered who he was really…there was no telling as his eyes were covered with a glistening white mask. She noticed him sheathing a sparkling white blade.

Sailor Galaxy must have had a stronger intuition than Unity since she saw it coming. She had taken that harsh blow, but leaped to her feet. "White Knight…!" She was halfway there.

"Dark…"

"No!" She leaped from the ground to the shed, set her arms on his shoulders, and pushed. She began falling back with him.

"Gravitation!" There was another roaring boom as the shed was smashed now just a twisted hunk of metal. Ledite, furious, strode to the unconscious knight and weak scout. "Idiot! Now you will just have to die a little more painfully." He raised his arm, preparing another Dark Lightning attack, Unity guessed.

"…Bond!" That was all she heard. The word rang in her ears, and everything seemed suddenly silent. There was a whirring noise Unity heard fly past her. She looked up and saw it- a large ring of black. It seemed that it should have been an enemy’s attack. But no. It hit Ledite with force beyond any she imagined anyone could have. He was thrown like a rag doll into the twisted mass that once was the rooftop shed.

Unity spun around. She saw a figure standing in the shadow. Only after Ledite stood did she speak.

"I am the scout who hides in the shadows, carefully strategizing my moves. My goal- to ensure the future safety of the scouts and the Universe. Sailor Destiny!"

Unity gasped. "Destiny!"

The hidden sailor emerged. She could have passed as a gothic enemy, but that was her, alright. Her skirt collar matched her hair and went well with her royal purple high heels and bow. "I had a feeling that…you guys needed me…"

"You bet," groaned Galaxy as she stood up, lifting the now moving White Knight.

Ledite once again pretended as if he was all right, but he was tattered. "You fools," he said very calmly, "there’s no way you can beat me. You see, you’re not unified."

‘Wait! Unity! That’s my job- to bring unity to the scouts! If we unite our powers…we can win this!’ "Sailor Galaxy! Destiny! Come here!"

Destiny walked almost silently across the roof while Galaxy made sure the knight was okay before she joined them. Sailor Unity whispered to them, "We must be unified, that’s how we wins. Get it?"

Galaxy nodded. The three faced their opponent. "Ledite, it seems that arm of yours is your source of power. Galaxy Laser Flash!" The beam cut a slit in Ledite’s left arm halfway between his hand and elbow.

"And," Unity joined, "you can’t defend yourself well now. Unity Water Wrap!" The great wave swept over Ledite with ease, gripping him tight as to not ever release him. The plan was working. His offense had been downed, now his defense was too. All that was left was the final move.

"You seem to be in a fix, general." Sailor Destiny smirked, almost the only form of smiling she ever did. "That will be the end of you. Destiny Darkness Bond!" The ring of shadow roared to life. Ledite cried out, knowing what was in store for him. The ring smashed into him and the water, and when the water fell and the shadow vanished, nothing was left. They had defeated Ledite.

Sailor Galaxy turned to Destiny. "We couldn’t have done it without your stepping in. I’m glad you changed your mind." She nodded. Sailor Galaxy lifted Tiki when they returned to the lobby. "We did it, Teek!"

"Way to go, girls!"

Unity looked puzzled. "Where did the White Knight go?"

Sailor Galaxy blushed around the nose. "He was leaving when we headed down here. I saw him go."

Each girl changed back into her everyday self. In unison, they thrust their fists into the air. "All right!"
